Finally. A day at home. A day to rest and catch up on all the housework I've been diligently ignoring. A day to work on my christmas cards and make a few birthday cards. A day to spend with Sarah.

Can you tell that I'm excited to be at home today?

Sorry about the no updates thing. I was going to blog last night and Rob had the computer tied up burning a giant dvd of the children's christmas pageant. So I folded laundry and cut coupons instead. It was fine. I was in bed asleep by 10:30.

We went to Houston, just Rob and I yesterday. Did some christmas shopping. It was nice just to spend time alone together, not working. We enjoyed it a lot. Then we came home and picked up the kids, ate cereal for supper and went to our seperate projects. Rob removed the toilet, replaced the wax ring and I set to figure out how on earth to make a sheep costume. We were both successful. yay! My sheep costume actually turned out even better than these photos. After she tried it on I cut about 6 inches off the bottom and went through and heavily adhered all the cotton, so hopefully it will at least make it through Monday night's performance! I was excited though, this costume cost $3.87 to make and I still have half a bag of polyfil and half a bag of glue sticks leftover!

Ooh, and Rob's funny face was him not wanting to take *another* picture with me. But I guess he got over it. :)

Christmas Pageant

Tonight was so fun. First of all, we may have the best kids ever. Not to offend anyone else with children, ours are just pretty spectacular. When it Sarah spoke tonight you could actually hear people whisper all over the auditorium "She's soooo cute!" It's crazy! And Eli did fantastic with his lines and his solo. We were proud of them both. He was really tired though, from playing to hard this afternoon, and Sundays always wipe us out. But he still sang strong and danced his little heart out in a good little A/G boy way.

I loved Sarah's dress. I found it a month or two ago at TJ Maxx for $20. One of the other little girls there had a green one (stunning) that was similar, and her mom bought it at Dillards and had considered Sarah's as well, so I guess it was at Dillards too! Cool! Glad I didn't pay a Dillard's price! Can you believe we brought a sweater for Sarah to wear, but it was too warm for it? Wow. It's seriously 72 degrees here right now, and super foggy. I'm just about to head out to the airport to pick up my mom, so hopefully it won't be too bad driving. I'll go slow. :)

Oh, and yesterday we received a bunk bed from Miss Monique. We are bartering for family pictures, so that's cool. Eli loves it! Actually, truth be told, Sarah does too, it's perfect for both kiddos. Especially with all of our family descending on us here in the next few weeks. It's the perfect time to introduce another bed into our home! :)

PS - during hi/lo tonight, Sarah said getting to wear her christmas dress was her high today. awww.

an update

Ok, so other than my few brief video posts, I've pretty much fallen off the face of the earth again. I think about blogging often during these periods of internet silence, I'm just usually in the car driving or elbow-deep in dishwater or painting a room at church. :)

This week has been so good. We had a rough spot with our vehicles, and it's not resolved yet, but Rob and I have decided to wait it out and let God solve it. So you can keep that in your prayers for us. :)

Youth Group on Wednesday night was awesome. I'm so in love with our church and our kids. I love spending time with them. I am looking forward to what God is going to do with us in the next year.

I've been baking. I spent all day on Monday baking Xmas goodies, and then did a few additional things as the week progressed. I like to have my freezer packed this time of year in case I need a last minute gift or unexpected company comes.

Speaking of company, Rob's mom has decided to join us for the week after Christmas. We are so excited to see her and to spend some time together. Rob will be taking a few more days vacation - in addition to the few Christmas holidays, so we will get almost a week of family togetherness. I think it will be great!

Mom comes tomorrow night. I can't even tell you how ready I am to see her! We've got so many plans for her 48 hour stay! I'm sure I'll be exhausted when she leaves this on Tuesday, but it will be so worth it. We are going to visit the church office so she can meet everyone, run to Kemah for lunch at Pappa's, maybe to Galveston if Kemah doesn't completely blow her mind, :) and we want to squeeze in Kohl's. We've got a gingerbread nativity to decorate with the kids. On Tuesday we are going to spend all day at Scrapbook by Design in Houston and that is going to be incredible. I haven't scrapbooked since my Christmas card push. Which, by the way, I haven't mailed yet. Haven't written our letter, haven't bought the envelopes or the postage! But I've been keeping busy, I promise!

Yesterday we went to Perry's for lunch and it was awesome. I had the chicken Diane, wow, incredible. Probably the best meal I've eaten this year, which really says something because Pastor loves to take us to exotic eateries!

Today we have the children's program practice. I'm going to run around and try to find a few more appliance boxes - good luck with that. And I think Autumn and I might hang out, so that will be fun! Tomorrow is the program and then my mom will be in late. I can't wait.

So the photos... The one of Rob, he was talking to me the other day and I thought he just looked so cute, so I took his picture. :) Sarah brought home this beautiful sparkly calendar the other day, and we took a family photo in front of the tree. I suspect will have a lot of fun photos in the days to come! toodles.

Lovin Life

Lately I just can't believe how good it is. We have had a great weekend and I'm just in love with our youth group. Cribs on Friday was so fun. Today was our skit, and it went awesome. Rob and I just had such a fun time! We had it recorded, but it's still at church. Hopefully I can put it up here shortly. And life group tonight was amazing, we just now said goodbye to our last group of guys. I'm just so amazed at what we get to do every week, that we literally get paid to love on teenagers.

Oh, so the photos... We are all messing around. These silly boys were eating, ON THE TILE in my living room. grrr. And they were trying to bounce me off the trampoline, it was hilarious. We all had such a good time.

And also - just for all my Northern friends. Notice that it's December 1st and I was out on the tramp in my bare feet with my pants rolled up. We were sweating because it's humid here. Crazy, huh??

Funny Photos

So, the first is a picture - a really bad picture - from painting the blue room yesterday. You can kind of get an idea why this room is insane to paint trim. That's just one tiny section of it, the fancy molding and trim work goes all around the room and the room is the size of the youth room - 1400 square feet or there abouts. Basically, bigger than my house! It's insane. But I'm eating an elephant. Next week I get a break because the tile is going in, so that's cool with me. I've got christmas baking to catch up on and those christmas cards aren't going to address themselves!! Oh, and the other two photos are Eli's creation. He accompanied me on my photo shoot today and we ran a bunch of errands before and after. This is us in Walgreens. Isn't that the cutest thing ever??

The Starnes's

Loved this family. Wow. They were super fun to work with. Autumn was my connection here, the beautiful red head. Marilyn and Ray are her folks, and then her brothers and their wives and son and dogs. Very fun. Autumn took me to this location yesterday to see what I thought. I loved it. Only wish I could shoot other people there. :) Very cool. It was a challenge though, there were some real background issues because the picnic area is off of a barrel recycling center, so there were some real challenges in the way of vehicles, barrels, open garages, garbage buckets and trucks. But for the most part we made it work. I'm feeling really good about this shoot and can't wait to see what they think!
