tunnel vision

There's a light at the end of our tunnel and we are pummeling towards it. We cleared the floor today (yay!) and now we are just working on the stubborn bits around the outer edges. I'll be searching for a17 inch sanding pad in the morning and hopefully starting on the buffing. Look at this floor, isn't it amazing? We are sooooo excited! We worked all day again today and I am wiped! But we made a lot of progress. Our sink is in and the new cabinets, just needs to be plumbed. The modular stage is in place (which is huge), the new floor trim is painted and ready to be installed after the floors are stained and polyurethaned. The strip is painted. I still have to paint "theLOFT" in the stripe. 90% of the ceiling is up. It looks awesome. There are quite a few details to attend to, but we are definitely making major progress. What do you think??

Oh, and the pictures - my kids have been incredible this weekend. We've lived at the church other than actual sleeping this weekend. Literally there from 8am to 9pm every night since friday and they are totally cool with it.
The mess on the floor - that was actually after we'd hauled about 75% of it away. We tore up all of that floorboard/linoleum/garbage/tar paper to discover these beautiful floors. The stack of trash in the middle of the room was about 3ft tall and half the room was still covered in broken flooring and nails and linoleum tiles. Me and two other awesome women lugged MDF and tiles down the stairs and across the gym for 3 hours while the boys tore up the remains of the floor. It was murder, but we are done and it was worth it.
